Nestlé is a leading company in the food and beverage industry. In 2001, the company's headquarters in Switzerland decided to increase its competitiveness by leveraging integrated and standardized information systems and launched a global project, one of the largest SAP implementations covering more than 130 countries. In the Americas, Nestlé Brazil was responsible for regional support, and NetPartners was the partner chosen to assist with several rollouts throughout the region: in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Panama, Venezuela, and the Dominican Republic. By partnering with NetPartners and with the support of its consultants, Nestlé was able to focus on localization gaps in order to shorten delivery times and keep the project within budget. Proper management of cultural differences fostered an efficient work team. Communication problems caused by language differences were reduced in order to achieve the project's goals.
